The crazy pave is going down on the secondary dwelling deck, and it's looking incredible! Originally, this deck was planned to be timber. We'd spec'd it, priced it, but as the charred timber cladding went up we realised we needed something to break it up. The harshness of the black needed softening, and stone was the answer.
Switching from timber to crazy pave wasn't a small decision. It meant reworking plans, additional costs, and extra labor. But seeing it go down now, we know it was the right call. The natural stone brings warmth and texture.
Watching the team piece it together has been satisfying - each stone placed deliberately, creating patterns that feel both random and intentional. This deck is going to be such a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy those countryside views!
