The Residence
Six bedrooms  ·  one house  ·  thirty-eight hectares

One house, patiently built.

A single residence on 38 hectares near Kiama. Shou sugi ban charred-timber cladding, concrete benches, two hearths, a pool, an alfresco pavilion — and six bedrooms arranged around them all.

Two hearths

The Living

The heart of the house — one open room running the length of the north face, with the stone-clad hearth at one end and a second, quieter brick fireplace built into the living wall. Glazing pulls the paddock and the hinterland inside; the room is meant for twelve to gather without anyone having to raise their voice.

Fully equipped

The Kitchen

Two V-Zug ovens and a five-burner Pitt gas cooktop anchor the island. Concrete benchtops, a full butler’s pantry with a third V-Zug and an induction cooktop behind the wall. Built to host a private chef or to be handed over to whoever in the group cooks best. Everything is where you would expect it.

The Alfresco

A covered alfresco pavilion off the kitchen, with a long table and a wood-fired pizza oven on the terrace. Dinners start here and migrate as the light turns. The table seats twelve without needing a second setting.

Private pool

The Pool

A precast concrete pool set against the paddock, positioned so the water reads level with the horizon line. Heated in the cooler months. No deck chairs arranged in rows — a few linen towels, a pair of weathered teak loungers, and the afternoon.

Bedrooms

Two masters,
four rooms.

Six bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, every one with an ocean view. Every bed is a king that splits into two king singles, so the house sleeps twelve as couples or twin-share without anyone compromising. One master sits west beside the old fig trees; the other faces east with its own courtyard and outdoor shower. The four guest rooms are near-identical — no one draws the short straw.
