Concrete Selections: Choosing Our Benchtop Colours

We spent the day at Set in Steel in Unanderra with owner Jared, selecting the perfect concrete finishes for our basins, kitchen islands, and benchtops throughout both dwellings. Walking into the workshop with our joinery samples in hand, we were immediately impressed by the range of concrete colours available. Matching materials is always a delicate process - you want everything to complement each other without being too matchy-matchy. Having our kitchen joinery samples made it so much easier to visualise how the concrete would work alongside the timber tones we've chosen.

Jared gave us a tour of the workshop, and honestly, the things they create with concrete are incredible. It's not just about pouring slabs - it's true craftsmanship. The detail, the finish, the precision required to get these pieces just right is impressive.

We narrowed it down to about three favourites, then headed straight to the property to see how they worked in the actual space.
