Brick Feature Wall

Sometimes the best design decisions come from necessity! Originally, this wall was planned to be standard gyprock painted to match the rest of the room, but when we found out regulations required a non-combustible wall behind the freestanding fireplace, we had to rethink our approach.

Rather than seeing it as a setback, we turned it into an opportunity to add character. After looking at various options that could withstand the heat, we discovered the San Selmo brick collection made in Italy. These bricks have that rustic, textured look we love, and they perfectly complement the aesthetic we're going for.

Right now the mortar is still drying, but once it fully cures, it should blend beautifully with the brick and develop more of that beige-creamy look we were after.
